ஆதியாகமம் 3:17

பின்பு அவர் ஆதாமை நோக்கி: “நீ உன்னுடைய மனைவியின் வார்த்தைக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்து, சாப்பிடவேண்டாம் என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொன்ன மரத்தின் பழத்தை சாப்பிட்டதால், பூமி உன்னால் சபிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும்; நீ உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாட்களெல்லாம் வருத்தத்தோடு அதின் பலனைச் சாப்பிடுவாய்.

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
