ഉല്പത്തി 38:28

അവൾ പ്രസവിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു പിള്ള കൈ പുറത്തു നീട്ടി; അപ്പോൾ സൂതികർമ്മിണി ഒരു ചുവന്ന നൂൽ എടുത്തു അവന്റെ കൈക്കു കെട്ടി; ഇവൻ ആദ്യം പുറത്തുവന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.
