સુક્કોથમાં યાકૂબ ચાલતો આવ્યો, તેણે પોતાને માટે ઘર બાંધ્યું અને તેનાં ઢોરને માટે આશ્રયસ્થાનો બનાવ્યા. એ માટે તે જગ્યાનું નામ સુક્કોથ પડ્યું.

And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him an house, and made booths for his cattle: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.
