கேராரூர் மேய்ப்பர்கள் “இந்தத் தண்ணீர் தங்களுடையது என்று சொல்லி”, ஈசாக்குடைய மேய்ப்பர்களுடனே வாக்குவாதம் செய்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் தன்னோடு வாக்குவாதம் செய்ததால், அந்தக் கிணற்றுக்கு ஏசேக்கு என்று பெயரிட்டான்.
