Keturunan Ismael tinggal di sebelah timur wilayah keturunan Isak, yaitu di daerah Hawila sampai Syur, ke arah negeri Asyur, di sebelah timur Mesir. Kedua belas suku ini tinggal jauh dari keturunan Isak.
