ઇસહાકની પત્ની નિઃસંતાન હતી માટે તેણે તેને સારુ ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના કરી. ઈશ્વરે તેની પ્રાર્થનાનો જવાબ આપ્યો અને તેની પત્ની રિબકા ગર્ભવતી થઈ.

And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
