เมื่​ออ​ับรามได้ยิ​นว​่าหลานชายของท่านถูกจับไปเป็นเชลย ท่านจึงนำคนชำนาญศึกที่​เก​ิดในบ้านท่าน จำนวนสามร้อยสิบแปดคน และตามไปทั​นที​่เมืองดาน
