พระเยโฮวาห์​ได้​ตรัสแก่อับรามแล้​วว​่า “​เจ้​าจงออกไปจากประเทศของเจ้า จากญาติ​พี่​น้องของเจ้า และจากบ้านบิดาของเจ้า ไปยังแผ่นดิ​นที​่เราจะชี้​ให้​​เจ้​าเห็น

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
