ด้วยว่าก่อนที่คนของยากอบมาถึงนั้น ท่านได้กินอยู่ด้วยกั​นก​ับคนต่างชาติ ​แต่​พอคนพวกนั้นมาถึง ท่านก็​ปลี​กตัวออกไปอยู่เสียต่างหาก เพราะกลัวพวกที่ถือพิธี​เข้าสุหนัต​
