எஸ்றா 9:7

எங்கள் பிதாக்களின் நாட்கள்முதல் இந்நாள்வரை நாங்கள் பெரிய குற்றத்திற்கு உள்ளாயிருக்கிறோம்; எங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களினாலே நாங்களும், எங்கள் ராஜாக்களும், எங்கள் ஆசாரியர்களும், இந்நாளிலிருக்கிறதுபோல, அந்நியதேச ராஜாக்களின் கையிலே, பட்டயத்திற்கும், சிறையிருப்புக்கும், கொள்ளைக்கும், வெட்கத்திற்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டோம்.

Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
