Detta hände i den persiske kungen Koreshs första regeringsår. För att Herrens ord genom Jeremia skulle uppfyllas påverkade Herren den persiske kungen Koresh sinne, så att han över hela sitt rike lät kungöra, både muntligt och skriftligt:
