કેવળ અસાહેલના પુત્ર યોનાથાન તથા તિકવાના પુત્ર યાહઝયાએ આ બાબતનો વિરોધ કર્યો, અને મશુલ્લામે તથા લેવી શાબ્બથાય તેઓને સાથ આપ્યો. બાકીના સર્વ લોકોએ એઝરાની સુચનાનો સ્વીકાર કર્યો.
