จงฆ่าให้ตายทั้งคนแก่ คนหนุ่มๆ สาวๆ ทั้งเด็กๆ และผู้​หญิง​ ​แต่​อย่าเข้าใกล้​ผู้​​ที่​​มี​​เครื่องหมาย​ และจงเริ่มต้​นที​่สถานบริ​สุทธิ​์ของเรา” ดังนั้นเขาจึงตั้งต้​นก​ับพวกคนแก่​ผู้​ซึ่งอยู่​หน​้าพระนิเวศนั้น

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
