Så ska du säga till dem: Så säger Herrarnas Herre (Adonai Jahveh): Jag lever, med säkerhet ska de som bor i ruiner (hebr. chorba – av svärd ödelagda platser) dö för svärdet (hebr. cherev), och han som är på det öppna fältet ska jag ge till de vilda djuren för att bli slukad, och de som är i de starka fästena [naturliga bergfästen – hebr. masad; samma ord som den kända antika fästningen Masada i Negevöknen] och i grottorna ska dö av pest.
