Vi è una cospirazione de' suoi profeti in mezzo di lei; han divorate le anime come un leone ruggente, che rapisce la preda; han tolte le facoltà, e le cose preziose; han moltiplicate le vedove in mezzo di essa.

There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
