Maar zij waren wederspannig tegen Mij, en wilden naar Mij niet horen; niemand wierp de verfoeiselen zijner ogen weg, noch verliet de drekgoden van Egypte; daarom zeide Ik, dat Ik Mijn grimmigheid over hen uitgieten zou, om Mijn toorn tegen hen te volbrengen in het midden van Egypteland.
