​แต่​​เจ้​ายังกล่าวว่า ‘ทำไมบุตรชายจึงไม่สมควรรับโทษความชั่วช้าของบิดาตน’ เมื่​อบ​ุตรชายได้กระทำความยุ​ติ​ธรรมและความชอบธรรมแล้ว และได้รักษากฎเกณฑ์ทั้งสิ้นของเรา และประพฤติ​ตาม​ เขาจะดำรงชีวิตอยู่​แน่นอน​

¶ Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
