എന്നാൽ സ്വൈരം വന്നു എന്നു ഫറവോൻ കണ്ടാറെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ അവൻ തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കി അവരെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചതുമില്ല.
