และพระองค์ทรงทำให้พระทัยของฟาโรห์​แข​็งกระด้างเพื่อฟาโรห์หายอมเชื่อฟังเขาทั้งสองไม่ เหมือนที่พระเยโฮวาห์​ได้​ตรัสไว้​แล้ว​

And he hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
