De [Israels äldste] kommer att lyssna på dig. Sedan ska du och Israels äldste gå till den egyptiska kungen och säga: Herren (Jahveh), hebréernas Gud, har visat sig för oss. Vi ber dig om tillåtelse att gå tre dagsresor in i öknen och offra åt Herren vår Gud.
