ฝ่ายโมเสสเฝ้าพระเยโฮวาห์​อยู่​​ที่​นั่นสี่​สิ​บวันสี่​สิ​บคืน ​มิได้​รับประทานอาหารหรือน้ำเลย และท่านจารึกคำพันธสัญญาไว้​ที่​​แผ่​นศิ​ลา​ คือพระบัญญั​ติ​​สิ​บประการ

And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
