யாத்திராகமம் 34:7

ஆயிரம் தலைமுறைகளுக்கு இரக்கத்தைக் காக்கிறவர்; அக்கிரமத்தையும், மீறுதலையும், பாவத்தையும் மன்னிக்கிறவர்; குற்றவாளியைக் குற்றம் இல்லாதவனாக விடாமல், தகப்பன்மார்கள் செய்த அக்கிரமத்தைப் பிள்ளைகளிடத்திலும், பிள்ளைகளுடைய பிள்ளைகளிடத்திலும் மூன்றாம் நான்காம் தலைமுறைவரை தண்டிக்கிறவர்” என்று கூறினார்.

Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
