નિર્ગમન 34:28

મૂસા ત્યાં યહોવાહ ની સાથે ચાળીસ દિવસ તથા ચાળીસ રાત હતો; તેણે રોટલી ખાધી ન હતી, તેમ જ પાણી પણ પીધું ન હતું. તેણે શિલાપાટીઓ ઉપર કરારના શબ્દો, એટલે દશ આજ્ઞાઓ લખી.

And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
