അങ്ങനെ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: അയ്യോ, ഈ ജനം മഹാപാതകം ചെയ്തു പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു ദൈവത്തെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
