પરંતુ તેનાથી વધારે સમય સુધી તેને સંતાડી રાખવાનું શક્ય ન હતું, તેથી તેણે ગોમતૃણની એક પેટી બનાવી, તેને ચીકણી માટી અને ડામરથી લીંપીને છોકરાને તેમાં સુવાડ્યો. પછી પેટીને તે નીલ નદી કિનારે બરુઓના છોડ વચ્ચે મૂકી આવી.

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.
