నిర్గమకాండం 23:15

పొంగ జేసే పదార్థం లేని రొట్టెల పండగ ఆచరించాలి. నేను మీకు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన ప్రకారం ఐగుప్తు నుండి మీరు బయలుదేరి వచ్చిన ఆబీబు నెలలో నియమిత సమయంలో ఏడు రోజుల పాటు పొంగ జేసే పదార్థం లేని రొట్టెలు తినాలి. నా సన్నిధానంలో ఒక్కడు కూడా ఖాళీ చేతులతో నిలబడకూడదు.

Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
