నిర్గమకాండం 21:22

ఎవరి మధ్యనైనా గొడవ జరిగినప్పుడు గర్భంతో ఉన్న స్త్రీకి దెబ్బ తగిలి ఆమెకు గర్భస్రావం జరిగితే, గర్భస్రావం కాక మరి ఏ ఇతర హానీ కలగకపోతే ఆ స్త్రీ భర్త హాని కలిగించినవాడిపై మోపిన నష్టాన్ని వాడు చెల్లించాలి. అయితే అది న్యాయాధిపతుల నిర్ణయం మేరకు వాళ్ళ సమక్షంలో జరగాలి.

¶ If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
