પરંતુ મૃત્યુની સજાને બદલે જો તેનો દંડ કરવામાં આવ્યો હોય, તો બળદના જીવના બદલામાં જે કાંઈ મૂલ્ય ઠરાવવામાં આવે તે તેણે ચૂકવવું.

If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
