இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் குடியிருப்பான தேசத்திற்கு வரும்வரை நாற்பது வருடங்கள் மன்னாவை சாப்பிட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் கானான் தேசத்தின் எல்லையில் சேரும்வரையும் மன்னாவை சாப்பிட்டார்கள்.
