నిర్గమకాండం 12:13

మీరు నివసించే ఇళ్ళపై ఉన్న ఆ రక్తం యెహోవా రాక విషయంలో మీకు ఆనవాలుగా ఉంటుంది. నేను ఐగుప్తు జాతి మొదటి సంతానాన్ని నాశనం చేస్తూ ఉన్న సమయంలో ఆ రక్తాన్ని చూసి మిమ్మల్ని చంపకుండా దాటి వెళ్ళిపోతాను. ఈ విపత్తు మీ మీదికి వచ్చి మిమ్మల్ని నాశనం చేయదు.

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
