Vua nổi thạnh nộ, đứng dậy khỏi bữa tiệc, đi ra nơi ngự viện. Còn Ha-man vì thấy rõ vua nhất định giáng họa cho mình, bèn ở lại nài khẩn hoàng hậu Ê-xơ-tê cứu sanh mạng mình.
