daartoe stelle de koning ambtenaren aan in alle gewesten van zijn koninkrijk, die alle jonge maagden, schoon van uiterlijk, moeten bijeenbrengen in de burcht Susan in het vrouwenhuis, onder opzicht van de koninklijke hoveling Hegai, de bewaker der vrouwen; daar stelle men de schoonheidsmiddelen tot haar beschikking.
