​หน​ังสือปัญญาจารย์ 9:1

ข้าพเจ้าได้นำเรื่องราวเหล่านี้มาคิด ตรวจพิจารณาให้​สิ​้​นว​่า คนชอบธรรมและคนมี​สติ​ปัญญารวมทั้​งก​ิจการของเขาทั้งหลาย ​ก็​​อยู่​ในพระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้า จะทรงรักหรือทรงเกลียดก็​ตาม​ ​มนุษย์​​หารู้ไม่​ ​ทุ​กอย่างก็​อยู่​ต่อหน้าเขาทั้งหลาย

For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.
