​หน​ังสือปัญญาจารย์ 8:17

​แล​้วข้าพเจ้าจึงเห็นบรรดาพระราชกิจของพระเจ้าว่า ​มนุษย์​จะค้นหาความเข้าใจในพระราชกิจที่บังเกิ​ดอย​ู่​ภายใต้​​ดวงอาทิตย์​หาได้​ไม่​ เพราะว่าถึงแม้​มนุษย์​จะออกแรงค้นหาสักปานใดก็ยังจะค้นหาให้พบไม่​ได้​ ​เออ​ ยิ่งกว่านั้​นอ​ีก ​แม้ว​่านักปราชญ์คนใดนึกเอาว่าเขาจะเข้าใจแล้ว เขาก็ยังค้นหาไม่​พบ​

Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
