ข้าพเจ้าครุ่นคิดในใจว่าจะทำอย่างไรกายจึงจะคึ​กค​ั​กด​้วยเหล้าองุ่น และใจยังคงแนะนำข้าพเจ้าด้วยสติ​ปัญญา​ และจะยึดความเขลาไว้​อย่างไร​ จนข้าพเจ้าจะเห็นได้​ว่า​ อะไรจะดีสำหรับให้​บุ​ตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์กระทำภายใต้ท้องฟ้าตลอดชีวิตของเขา

I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.
