నా మనస్సు ఇంకా జ్ఞానాన్ని కోరుకుంటుండగా ఆకాశం కింద మానవులు తమ జీవితంలో ఏమి చేస్తే మేలు పొందుతారో చూద్దామని, ద్రాక్షారసంతో నా శరీరాన్ని సంతోషపరచుకొంటాను, బుద్ధిహీనత వలన ఏమైనా ప్రయోజనం ఉంటుందేమో అని ఆలోచించాను.

I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.
