સભાશિક્ષક 2:3

પછી મેં મારા અંત:કરણમાં શોધ કરી કે હું મારા શરીરને દ્રાક્ષારસથી મગ્ન કરું, તેમ છતાં મારા અંત:કરણનું ડહાપણ તેવું ને તેવું જ રહે છે. વળી માણસોએ પૃથ્વી ઉપર પોતાના પૂરા આયુષ્યપર્યંત શું કરવું સારું છે તે મને સમજાય ત્યાં સુધી હું મૂર્ખાઈ ગ્રહણ કરું.

I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.
