Deuteronomium 9:3

Zo zult gij heden weten, dat de HEERE, uw God, Degene is, die voor uw aangezicht doorgaat, een verterend vuur: Die zal hen verdelgen, en Die zal hen voor uw aangezicht nederwerpen; en gij zult ze uit de bezitting verdrijven, en zult hen haastelijk te niet doen, gelijk als de HEERE tot u gesproken heeft.

Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.
