​หน​ังสือพระราชบัญญั​ติ​ 8:2

ท่านทั้งหลายจงระลึกถึงทางซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทรงนำท่านอยู่ในถิ่นทุ​รก​ันดารถึงสี่​สิ​บปี เพื่อพระองค์จะทรงกระทำให้ท่านถ่อมใจและทดลองให้ทราบว่าจิตใจของท่านเป็นอย่างไร ​ดู​ว่าท่านจะรักษาพระบัญญั​ติ​ของพระองค์​หรือไม่​

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
