5 Moseboken 7:9

Så förstå (var medveten om, känn till) att det är Herren (Jahveh), din Gud (Elohim), som är Gud (Elohim); den trofaste Gud (El) som håller fast vid sitt förbund och visar nåd i tusen släktled mot dem som älskar honom och håller hans budord. [Nåd i tusen generationer syftar antagligen på oändlig evig nåd, se t.ex. Ps 105:8.]

Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
