Deuteronomium 32:27

Ten ware, dat Ik de toornigheid des vijands schroomde, dat niet hun tegenpartijen zich vreemd mochten houden; dat zij niet mochten zeggen: Onze hand is hoog geweest; de HEERE heeft dit alles niet gewrocht.

Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.
