ข้าพเจ้าขออัญเชิญสวรรค์และโลกให้เป็นพยานต่อท่านในวันนี้​ว่า​ ข้าพเจ้าตั้งชีวิตและความตาย พระพรและคำสาปแช่งไว้ต่อหน้าท่าน เพราะฉะนั้นท่านจงเลือกเอาข้างชีวิตเพื่อท่านและเชื้อสายของท่านจะได้​มี​​ชี​วิตอยู่

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
