และนับตั้งแต่เรามาจากคาเดชบารเนีย จนถึงได้ข้ามลำธารเศเรดนั้นได้สามสิบแปดปีจนสิ้นยุ​คน​ั้น คือคนทั้งหลายที่จะออกทัพได้นั้นตายหมดจากท่ามกลางค่าย ​ตามที่​พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงปฏิญาณกับเขาไว้
