Och dagarna då vi kom från Kadesh Barnea till dess vi kom över bäcken Zered var 38 år [jfr Joh 5:5], till dess hela generationen, alla stridsdugliga män, hade försvunnit (dött, förgåtts) från lägrets mitt, som Herren (Jahveh) svurit till dem. [4 Mos 14:20-23]
