Det kommer att ske om du inte vill lyssna till Herren (Jahveh) din Guds (Elohims) röst och hålla (vakta, skydda, bevara) alla befallningar (de tydliga budorden – hebr. mitzvot) och förordningar (ordagrant ”saker inristat”) som jag befallt (hebr. tsavah) dig denna dag, då ska dessa förbannelser drabba (ta över) dig:
