నలభై దెబ్బలు కొట్టించవచ్చు. అంతకు మించకూడదు. అలా చేస్తే మీ సోదరుడు మీ దృష్టిలో నీచుడుగా కనబడతాడేమో.

Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
