​แต่​เขาต้องยอมรับบุตรหัวปีคื​อบ​ุตรชายของภรรยาคนที่ตนชัง โดยแบ่งข้าวของให้​แก่​​บุ​ตรหัวปี​สองเท่า​ เพราะว่าคนนี้เป็นต้นกำลังของบิดา ​สิทธิ​ของบุตรหัวปีเป็นของเขา

But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.
