Femte Moseboken 17:8

Om det i något fall blir för svårt för dig att döma, det kan gälla ett dråp, en rättsfråga, ett misshandelsbrott eller något annat som kan orsaka tvist inom dina portar, då ska du bryta upp och bege dig till den plats som Herren din Gud utväljer

¶ If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;
