Ni ska inte äta av något som är självdött, det kan du ge till främlingen som är inom dina portar så att han kan äta det eller du kan sälja det till en främling, för du är ett heligt folk för Herren din Gud (Jahveh Elohim). Du ska inte koka kalven i dess mors mjölk. [Detta bud har gett upphov till dagens kosherregler, men handlar om kanaaneiska ockulta fertilitetsriter, se 2 Mos 23:19.]
