தானியேல் 1:8

தானியேல் ராஜா குறித்திருக்கிற உணவினாலும் அவர் குடிக்கும் திராட்சைரசத்தினாலும் தன்னைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தக்கூடாதென்று, தன் இருதயத்தில் தீர்மானம்செய்துகொண்டு, தன்னைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாதபடி அதிகாரிகளின் தலைவனிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

¶ But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
